Description: Extensive renovations and restoration of the South Side branch, a Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark, included ADA upgrades and introducing air-conditioning to the building.Interior work: new elevator, conferencing areas, programming rooms for children and teens, and new geothermal heating and cooling system; reconstruction and/or restoration of original millwork, receptionist’s desk, new lighting, flooring, and installation of new book shelves.Exterior work: restoration of brick façade, new precast coping, new slate roof, entrance steps, and handicap ramp.Following successful completion of work at the South Side branch, we performed rehabilitation work to modernize the West End branch, a City Designated Historic Structure, including a new slate roof, elevator, air-conditioning, and refurbished windows.
